James Robertson, Member of Parliament for St. Thomas Western, has said a team from the National Works Agency (NWA) is to begin patching the Serge Island to Trinityville main road on Monday.

The road has been blocked three times since last week by residents of Trinityville. it was again blocked on Monday morning.

In an interview with RJR News, Mr. Robertson confirmed that the NWA has indicated it will carry out some patching on sections of the road.

"That would suffice in some areas but in some areas, there is no road surface to patch, so they were now speaking about filling," he outlined.

The police and firefighters have cleared a section of the Serge Island to Trinityville main road. Heavy duty equipment is being sourced to clear the other section, as residents used large trees and debris to stop the flow of traffic.
