Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller is expected to provide information on the progress of the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) at a media briefing scheduled for Monday morning. This follows the three-day Cabinet retreat which ended on Sunday.
The Prime Minister has come under intense pressure over the past week to provide the nation with information on the IMF negotiations, especially after last Sunday's national broadcast.
In an update on the three-day Cabinet retreat, Mrs. Simpson Miller said at Saturday's session, Ministers reported on their strategic priorities for 2013/2014.
She added that Cabinet examined the issues with a view to taking decisions on the final shape of the upcoming budget.
Mrs. Simpson Miller said all this was done against the background of the economic reform programme and discussions with the IMF.
