Public Procurement Commission hosting training session for gov't workers

In its quest to improve the procurement process, the Public Procurement Commission will be hosting a training session Thursday for personnel from ministries, departments and agencies of government.

The Public Procurement Commission says the training will provide guidance on several critical areas to ensure that the regulations governing procurement are implemented by all stakeholders.

Executive Director of the Procurement Commission Nadia Morris says the agency is committed to enhancing public procurement and compliance with the relevant legislation.

She says it is critical that transparent, efficient, and accountable procurement processes are employed to ensure that any hint of corruption is stamped out.

There have been concerns raised about the government's procurement processes which some say are too cumbersome and often add unnecessary red tape.
