Just like the One Day Internationals, the West Indies women surrendered the T20 International series to Sri Lanka women, losing the third and final game by 9 wickets on Tuesday in Grenada.
The visitors secured their first ever series win in this format against the Caribbean side, 2-0 after winning the third and final match in Grenada by 9 wickets on Tuesday.
Batting first after losing the toss, the Windies posted 119-5 off their allotment. Deandra Dottin, 28 and Stafanie Taylor, 24, rescued the innings, sharing in a 48 run 4th wicket stand to lift the Windies from 28-3 to 76-4, before Chinelle Henry top scored with 32. Inoka Ranaweera, 2-16 and Sugandika Kumari, 2-32, were the pick of the Sri Lankan bowlers.
In reply, Sri Lanka cruised to 121-1 with wicketkeeper Hasini Perera scoring her maiden T20 international half century, 52 not out.
Imesha Dulani added 34, while captain Chamari Atapaththu contributed 32, with Afy Fletcher the lone wicket taker for the Maroon Warriors.
The Windies will now prepare themselves for their upcoming T20 series with world number 1 Australia in St Vincent, set to bowl off on March 19.
