Jimmy Riley, a popular Jamaican reggae singer, died Wednesday morning in New York after a battle with cancer.
Born Martin James Ziggy Norman Riley, he was recognised mainly as a soloist but was also a member of The Sensations and The Uniques.
Mr. Riley, who is the father of Taurus Riley, was 61 years old.
Jimmy is known for the hits Love and Devotion and Give Thanks And Praise.
He topped the UK reggae chart with his version of Marvin Gaye's Sexual Healing.
Tarrus Riley's label mate, Alaine, was among the first of a long list of members of the entertainment fraternity to show support.
