A reputed area leader in Homestead, Spanish Town, St. Catherine was on Tuesday shot and killed during a reported confrontation with the police.
He has been identified as a 30-year-old Javon Basceosingh, of 7 Mansfield Avenue in Homestead.
The police say the operation was carried out about 2 p.m.
A Glock pistol with several rounds of ammunition was allegedly seized.
