Employees of the Firearm Licensing Authority (FLA) who first took strike action on Tuesday are to resume duties Thursday.
The workers decided to end their protest following a meeting Wednesday between officials of the FLA and the Ministry of Finance.
This was disclosed to Radio Jamaica News by President of the Jamaica Civil Service Association, Techa Clarke-Griffiths.
"It was agreed that the workers will resume duties tomorrow, and I am meeting with the management team this evening and with the staff tomorrow to discuss the way forward," she said.
Operations at the FLA were disrupted Tuesday and Wednesday after the workers took industrial action over the delay in implementing the compensation review.
The workers are said to be employed on contract for which the compensation regime has not been concluded.
