The sentencing of the 15 convicted members of the One Don Gang is continuing in the Home Circuit Court.
The first to be sentenced, Tomrick Taylor, will spend nine and a half years behind bars.
In handing down the sentence, Chief Justice Bryan Sykes noted that Taylor took responsibility for the role he played in the gang.
Justice Sykes rejected the idea that Taylor was remorseful, stating that he had enough time during the trial which spanned over two years to take responsibility for his actions.
During his unsworn statement, Taylor said the witnesses lied but last week accepted responsibility.
In the presentation of his Social Enquiry Report, the court heard that Taylor, otherwise known as 'Fancy Rass', a resident of Dempshire Pen in St. Catherine, may have fallen victim to his environment.
But Taylor said despite his father's absence, his mother took care of him.
Justice Sykes said the evidence suggested that Taylor would have continued his life of crime if he was not arrested.
He stressed that Taylor chose to join the criminal network.
Justice Sykes said Taylor was among gangsters who made two attempts to kill a man called 'Doolie' in August 2017.
