Vybz Kartel
The murder trial of dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel and his four co-accused enters day two this Thursday morning at the Home Circuit Court in Kingston.
The men are accused of the August 2011 murder of Clive "Lizard" Williams in Havendale, St. Andrew.
Mr. Williams' sister will continue giving testimony.
When the trial got underway on Wednesday, Mr. Williams’ sister was the second witness to be called, following the testimony of his girlfriend. His sister gave testimony about her brother's relationship with Vybz Kartel and one of the other accused, entertainer Shawn Storm. She testified that Mr. Williams was good friends with both men.
She said the last time she saw her brother was two days before he disappeared. She told the court that an incident happened which made her frightened and scared.
According to the woman, she was at home on Sunday, August 14, when she heard a commotion. When she went to investigate she saw her brother and another individual rushing into her living room and hiding behind a sofa. She explained that they were observed sending text messages and talking on their cell phones.
After a brief conversation with her brother, she took both men to the Portmore Mall and that was the last time she saw him. She testified that she spoke with him on the morning of August 16; however calls to his cell phone later that evening went unanswered.
