The United States and Russia have agreed on four principles following talks that lasted more than four hours on Tuesday in Saudi Arabia to discuss an end to the war with Ukraine.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio says a high-level team will be appointed to help negotiate and work through the end of the conflict in Ukraine in a manner that's acceptable to all the parties engaged. Additionally, the countries agreed to improving their diplomatic and economic ties.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who was not invited to the talks, says Ukraine will not give in to Russia's ultimatums and earlier said he would refuse to sign any agreement negotiated without Kyiv's involvement.
