Visa applicant dies at US Embassy in Kingston

A visa applicant died at the US Embassy on Monday morning.
 
Public Affairs Attache, Mike Lavallee, says a Jamaican national experienced a medical emergency while visiting the Embassy.
 
Mr. Lavallee revealed that at approximately 8:20 a.m., the man suffered a medical episode and despite immediate medical attention, he tragically died.
 
The embassy says the body was later removed by a funeral home in accordance with local laws and procedures.
 
The US Embassy in Kingston adds that it is deeply saddened by the passing of the visa applicatant.
 
The mission further indicated that it was was unable to provide further details out of respect for the privacy of the family of the deceased.
