The Australian Cricketers Association (ACA) in a letter to the country's governing body Cricket Australia has acknowledged the value players such as West Indian Kieron Pollard and Chris Gayle add to the domestics Big Bash Twenty20 League.
The ACA also supported the inclusion of two overseas stars in each of the eight city-based teams,
The West Indies trio of Gayle, Pollard and Dwayne Bravo opted out of their central retainer contracts with the West Indies Cricket Board to become free-lancers.
In the letter, the Australian cricketers outlined that they their board to schedule the post-2012 international calendar in such a way that they can play the revamped Big Bash Twenty20 League and cut down on one-day internationals.
As per the current arrangement, Australia's one-day players have no chance of playing in the state-based big bash because the competitions run concurrently.
