Banned athletes to sue vitamin manufacturer

The three Racers Track Club athletes, who were recently handed three month doping bans, will be proceeding with legal action against Accelerative Nuetro-ceuticals, the company which manufactures the vitamin supplement Muscle Speed.

Racers Track Club officials on Wednesday revealed that the three athletes, Yohan Blake, Marvin Anderson and Allodin Fothergill, actually took the vitamin supplement Muscle Speed, which was reported by the manufacturers as compliant with World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) rules.

The company then allegedly changed the wording on the vitamin bottles after the doping case became public and Coach Glen Mills says action will be taken against them.

Additionally Coach Mills also explained measures including a medical panel which will be put in place to protect his athletes in the future.

Blake says he is already looking to bounce back from the scandal.

Although handed a three month ban by the Jamaica Anti-Doping Appeals Tribunal earlier this month, Blake, Anderson, Fothergill and Lanceford Spence now await the ruling of WADA and athletics world governing body, the IAAF.
