Boxing fraternity pays final respects to "The Body Snatcher"

One of the world's greatest boxers, Michael “The Body Snatcher” McCallum, was laid to rest on Saturday. The service was held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral Church.

Born on December 7, 1956 in Kingston, McCallum departed the world on May 31, 2025 in Las Vegas. McCallum, who held world championships in three weight classes, is survived by his mother, wife and 11 children.

In the meantime, Sports Minister Olivia Grange has announced that a statue of McCallum will be mounted at the National Stadium.
