Boyz move up 7 places

  Jamaica's 5 - 1 win over St. Vincent and the Grenadines in their friendly international at the national stadium Tuesday night has had a telling impact on the FIFA world football rankings.

The Reggae Boyz have moved seven places from their all time low of 105 in the world.

The Jamaicans are second in the Caribbean, behind Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) ranked 87th ahead of their friendly at the Marvin Lee Stadium at 5pm Saturday.

Mexico head CONCACAF at number 14 while the United States are 21st.

At the top Argentina lead Brazil, Italy, Spain and Germany.

Two more friendlies

Defenders Oneil Thompson and Tyrone Marshall have joined the squad for the friendly internationals against T&T and Grenada.

Thompson arrived from Norway while Marshall will be coming out of the US Major League for the game.

Former captain Andy Williams who returned to squad with an outstanding match Tuesday night is unavailable for the game as he will be returning to Real Salt Lake in the US Major League for an away game against Kansas City Wizards on Saturday.

Shawn Sawyers, Omar Daley, Jermaine Johnson and Lee Williamson who all missed out on Tuesday night are also in the squad which departs the island for T&T on Thursday.

Jamaica's technical director René Simoes was pleased with his team performance against St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The scorers were Marlon king with a double, Demar Phillips, substitute Deon Burton and Captain Ricardo Gardner.

Marlon James scored the 56th minute consolation for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
