Burton among 3 new invitees to Reggae Boyz

With the Jamaican squad hit by injury, head coach John Barnes has invited three players to the team as the Reggae Boyz get ready to face Nigeria in Wednesday's friendly international.

Zavon Hines, striker for English Premier League team West Ham United, along with 1998 World Cup qualifying hero Deon Burton, have earned a recall along with Portmore United's Woolery Wolfe.

Captain Ricardo Gardner, forward Ricardo Fuller and experience defender Ian Goodison will miss the game.

Gardner is nursing a swollen left knee which was injured in Saturday's English Premier League game between Bolton Wanderers and Tottenham.

Fuller dislocated his shoulder on Saturday during Stoke City's 2-0 loss to Sunderland and could be sidelined for the remainder of the Premier League season.

Goodison is set to spend between four to six weeks on the sidelines after sustaining an ankle injury in last weekend's defeat at Crewe in the English League One.

The trio joins goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts on the injured list.

The coaching staff now has 20 players to choose from which include, the 4 local based goalkeepers, Shawn Sawyers and Dwayne Miller and attacking wing back Eric Vernon who all departed the country Sunday night.
