Campion College at last !

Campion College have ended their 27 year wait for the ISSA Grace Shield title, the top prize in urban area schoolboy cricket.

They completed a four wicket victory over St. George's College on the third and final day of the championship match at Melbourne Oval.

Chasing 166 and resuming on 48 for 1, Campion reached the target for the loss of four wickets.

Neil Johnson ended top-scorer with 50 while Saad Ahmad got 40 before the Mansingh brothers Abijhai 33 and Atishai 10 guided them to victory with an unbroken 38 run 5th wicket partnership. 

Campion previously won in 1987 and 1988 during the heady days of Carlton Carter.    

Final scores: St. George's College 98 and 225; Campion College 158 and 166-4. Campion won by 6 wickets.

They will now go on to meet Grace Headley Cup champions St. Elizabeth Technical High in the All Island Spaulding Cup on a date to be announced.
