Clan Carthy keep Manning Cup second round hopes alive

Clan Carthy remain in the hunt for a second round berth in the ISSA Flow Manning Cup after a 2-1 win over Jose Marti on Saturday to stay second in Group ‘F’. Clan Carthy were outfront from as early as the 12th minute through Shakim Gordon. They held the lead until the 43rd minute when Jose Marti pulled level through Sean-D Thompson from the penalty spot.

The game was heading for a draw until Jose Marti gave up a penalty in stoppage time, Matthew Tate converting the spot kick to put Clan Carthy on 15 points, one ahead of third place St Jago.

The perfect run of St George's College came to an end as they were held 1-1 by Vauxhall High. The ‘Light Blues’ fell behind when Vauxhall took a 40th minute lead through Troy Nosworthy which was later wiped out by Akeem Robotham in the 53rd minute.
