"Country" Francis hits out against 4 race day suspension

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Spencer Darlington

Veteran jockey Paul "Country" Francis believes he has been unfairly punished by the Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC) stewards following his suspension for 4 race days handed down earlier this week.

The 45 year old rider vented his feelings to Radio Jamaica Sports on Saturday at Caymanas Park.

The suspension is set to take effect on Sunday, September 24 and Francis has lodged an appeal to be heard on date to be decided by the JRC.

He was denied a stay of execution in case the appeal is not heard before the suspension takes effect, on the grounds that his application for such a request was erroneous.
