Former National Junior representative Damar Robinson, was on Monday handed a one year suspension for returning a positive test which revealed the prohibited Steroid Androgen Receptor Modulator (SARM).
The sanction was handed down by Chairman of the Jamaica Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel, Kent Pantry, at the Jamaica Conference Centre. The other members of the panel which presided over the in-camera hearing were Peter Prendergast and Professor Archibald McDonald.
The suspension for the former Calabar High student Robinson, who is currently attending Cloud County Community College in the State of Kansas in the U.S.A., will be retroactive to June 16, 2013 when he provided the positive sample at the National Junior Trials.
Robinson listened to his ban via Skype and becomes eligible to compete again in two months time on June 17. His one year suspension comes days after olympians Asafa Powell and Sherone Simpson were each handed 18-month suspensions and Allison Randall was banned for 2-years.
