Dunbeholden starts new JPL season on winning note

Dunbeholden started the 2022 season of the Jamaica Premier League on a winning note by edging Vere United 2-1 at the Captain Horace Burrell Centre of Excellence on Monday.

The St Catherine-based team took a 1-0 lead through Ataphaory Bygrave in the 8th minute but that was cancelled out nine minutes into the second half by Lamard Neil.

However, Jamiel Hardware ensured Dunbeholden would pocket all three points with an added time winner.

The day's second encounter ended 1-1 between former champions Portmore United and Tivoli Gardens.

Warner Brown opened the scoring in the 42nd minute for Tivoli, but three minutes from the end, Shai Smith found the equalizer for Portmore United.

The round comes to an end on Tuesday with Harbour View taking on Molynes United at 1:00 pm and Mount Pleasant playing Humble Lion at 3:15 pm. Both games are set for the Captain Horace Burrell Centre of Excellence.
