Eltham High took first innings honours from Jamaica College after Tuesday's frst day of the 3-day ISSA Urban Area Grace Shield final at Melbourne Oval.
Shane Cole 47, Ramone Francis 27, Jerome Barton 24 and Joel Binns 21, guided Eltham to 173 all out after electing to bat. Bowling for JC, Akin Fraser bagged 7-46.
But Ramone Francis 5-34 and Javel Innis 3-36 combined to skittle out Jamaica College for 84 all out.
Courtney Dowdie was the top scorer with 19 while Romario Tomlin hit 14.
Wednesday is the scheduled second day.
