Former Sunshine Girl voted onto board of Netball Jamaica

For the second time running, former national netballer Simone Forbes was beaten in the race for a vice president position at Netball Jamaica. In Saturday’s 1st vice president race, Forbes was defeated by Trecia Robinson 78-63 at the offices of the JOA. But disappointment soon turn to joy for Forbes who was voted onto the board of directors as one of two new members. Forbes received the second highest number of votes, 87, behind Denise Wisdom.

Shaun Murdock with 82 votes was the other newcomer elected and the three will join Karlene Waugh on the four member board. Janet Johnson-Haughton was unopposed for the post of treasurer. The post of president will be contested in 2020.
