Four Jamaican boxers super heavyweight Andre Reid, middleweight Kevin White, Welterweight Ricardo Brown and light welterweight Shawn Wheatle left
the island on Monday for Trinidad and Tobago
to compete in the first Olympic qualifier for boxers from the Americas.
The boxers, who are all from the Jamaica Defence Force, were accompanied by coaches Kingsley Barrett and Bernard Williams and Boxing Board General Secretary Leroy Brown.
Twenty-seven countries including Cuba will be sending 167 boxers to this qualifier in Trinidad.
Jamaica's leading boxers, Nicholas Walters and Rikardo Smith will attend the final qualifier for the Americas in Guatemala next month.
