Defending champions Jamaica suffered their first defeat of the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Women’s T20 Blaze, as they went down by 5 wickets to Trinidad and Tobago in a low-scoring affair at Arnos Vale.
Batting first, Jamaica could only muster 65-9 from their 20 overs. Chinelle Henry top scored with 18, while Keneshia Ferron made 16. No other batter got to double figures. Steffie Soogrim bagged 4-2 from her 4 overs, while Shalini Samaroo took 2-8.
T&T in their innings made heavy weather of the chase as they got to victory at 66-5 in 19.2 overs. They experienced Britney Cooper led the way with 30 not out. Anisa Mohammed chipped in with an important 18. Henry returned to grab 3-8, while Jodian Morgan took 2-13.
