JA basketball team needs more work – Vincent

With the start of the Caribbean Basketball Championships (CBC) just four days away, the head coach of Jamaica's national basketball team is concern that the team is not ready.

Sam Vincent says while the team has improved considerably, there is still much more to be done.

The national team defeated a makeshift NBL (National Basketball League) All Star team 93-57 in their first practice game since training began on Saturday.

While ok with the teams overall performance in that practice game, Vincent still had concerns.

"I though we gave up too many offensive rebounds, we need to rebound the ball better (and) I thought our shooting was ok but it still needs improvement. We need to continue growing as a team," he said.

The team will depart for the CBC championships in British Virgin Islands territory of Tortola on Sunday and will start their campaign on Wednesday when they take on Trinidad and Tobago.
