Jockey Jerome Innis has been stood down from all his mounts this Saturday and Monday at Caymanas Park after failing to attend remedial sessions, as stipulated by the Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC) stewards. Innis was expected to have four to five mounts over the 2-day Easter weekend carnival of racing.
He was recently fined $10,000 for a riding infringement and ordered by the JRC stewards to undergo remedial sessions.
However, after his failure to attend any session for six weeks, he was summoned to another hearing by the JRC and advised that he would be stood down from his mounts over the Easter weekend.
JRC chief steward Antoine Nembhard says Innis will be allowed to resume riding once he gets a favourable report from the steward assigned to conduct the remedial sessions with the jockey. It's understood that Innis started the remedial sessions on Wednesday.
