The local sporting fraternity is mourning once more. This follows the death of former national football coach and Technical Director Winston Chung-Fah, who also founded Santos FC in 1964. He also worked with the Cayman Islands national football team as Technical Director and coach.
It's understood that Chung-Fah, who had been ailing for some time, passed away on Thursday in hospital in the state of Florida in the United States. Chung-Fah was the recipient of a national award, the Order of Distinction in the rank of Commander Class in 2013 for outstanding contribution to the development of Jamaica's football programme.
The man who guided Clarendon College to the DaCosta Cup and Olivier Shield titles in 1977 and 78 with the likes of Lenworth "Teacher" Hyde and Dennis "Den Den" Hutchinson, before establishing Santos, had previously been honoured by FIFA with their Order of Merit 2012.
