Lushane Wilson wins Under-18 high jump

Jamaica's Lushane Wilson  won the Boys' Under-18 High Jump late Sunday night at the 43rd Carifta Track and Field Championships.

Wilson cleared 2.03 metres to hold off Bermudan Janhai Perinchief who also cleared 2.03 metres and Omari Benoit of Trinidad & Tobago 2 metres.

Jevaughn Fowler clinched bronze for Jamaica in the Under-20 Long Jump, as Clayton Brown failed to medal. Brown has defeated Christoffe Bryan on the countback in the High Jump.

Meanwhile, team officials are reporting that the injuries to Raheem Chambers and Maurice Harrison are not serious.

Chambers pulled up suddenly in the boys' Under-18 sprint relay final with Jamaica holding a huge lead. He reportedly felt cramps in his right thigh. It was iced and he was advised to rest.

Harrison had fallen to the track on completion of the 1500 metres, the last event of the Octathlon.

He reportedly complained of knee problems. Harrison finished 5th in his event with 5,114 points.
