Former Jamaica Premier League (JPL) champions Montego Bay United have gone for another South American manager, as they have signed Argentinian Rodolpho Zapata.
Zapata replaces Brazilian Neider Dos Santos who was at the helm of the club last season.
Zapata's coaching duties in North America includes working for the USA Olympic Development Programme and identifying young talent for the US national team.
He has been a head coach for some of the biggest clubs in South Africa, Botswana, Nigeria, Kenya, and Rwanda, as well as Fiji's national Under-20 team.
He’s also the founder of the Rolo Zapata Academy in Argentina. Mo Bay United finished outside the playoff spot last season after being edged out on goal difference by Waterhouse.
Meanwhile, there is also movement at Dunbeholden, as the club has parted ways with coach Lenny Hyde who guided the club last season.
Based on Radio Jamaica Sports checks, there were differing opinions on the way forward between the management of the club and Hyde.
Both parties then amicably separated following the meeting. Hyde, who took over at the St Catherine-based club in August 2023, guided the team to an eighth place finish.
