PFJL making efforts to ensure UWI FC competes in upcoming JPL

Voice of PFJL chairman Christopher Williams

Chairman of the Professional Football Jamaica Limited (PFJL) Chris Williams says efforts are being made to ensure struggling UWI FC take part in the truncated Jamaica Premier League which kicks off on Saturday.

It’s understood financial constraints could result in UWI FC withdrawing from the competition belatedly, but Williams who was speaking on Hitz 92 FM's Sports Grill says the original plan to have 12 teams in the competition is still intact.

Williams also said that a withdrawal by UWI FC would not affect the format but that they would no longer be eligible for any of the funding for the season.
