Rocco Lopez takes first round lead at Buccaneer Golf Tournament

2018 Caribbean Under- 15 junior golf champion Rocco Lopez established a two stroke lead in the first round of the 25th staging of the Alliance Buccaneer Memorial Classic at the Caymanas Golf Club. Lopez sank four birdies and two bogies to card a 2 under par 70.

Defending champion William Knibbs recovered from a 6 over par on the front nine, to finish even par 72 and trail the leader by two strokes.

Reigning national champion and two time Jamaica Open amatuer winner Justin Burrowes had one of his worst starts in many tournaments this season, finishing with one over par 73 after 36 holes to be three strokes behind Lopez.

Four strokes separate the top four players.
