Rochester takes over as new ASAJ president

Lance Rochester is the new president of the Aquatic Sports Association of Jamaica (ASAJ) following the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday.

Vice presidents Georgia Sinclair and Lance Rochester who is also a former national water polo player were the two candidates for the top post when Martin Lyn decided he would not seek re-election.

It was Rochester who emerged victorious by a landslide, talllying 46 votes to Sinclair's 7. There were 2 spoiled ballots.

The only other contested post was for honorary secretary which saw Shauna Jackson unseated by former treasurer Florence Grizzle-Williams by a vote of 40 to 12. All other posts were unopposed.

Dr Hilary Nixon will serve as vice president in charge of swimming, Robyn Chin-Sang is VP with responsibility for artistic swimming, while Marlon McIntyre will be the VP  responsible for water polo.

Richard Hopkins will serve as treasurer and Michelle Parker as assistant secretary.
