President of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) Dr Donovan Bennett is quietly optimistic that Sabina Park will have its first ever pink ball test this July when Australia tour the Caribbean.
As previously reported by Radio Jamaica Sports, Cricket Australia had requested that the third test against the West Indies be played as a day/night contest based on the desire of Australian fans to enjoy the island during the day-time.
However, this was contingent on the lights at Sabina Park being upgraded. Dr Bennett also revealed that the new scoreboard from India will also be installed before July.
Along with the third test, the West Indies and Australia will also meet in two T20 matches under lights at Sabina Park.
