With no trophy race on Wednesday's mid-week programme at Caymanas Park, last year’s Derby runner-up Sotomayor will take the spotlight on the card when he takes on 8 rivals in a high claiming event for which 4 year old non-winners of four are also eligible. The grey gelding who is conditioned by Anthony ‘Baba Nunes is the 5-2 second choice in the overnight odds and will be going for his second straight victory in a week and a half also over a mile.
Former champion jockey Dick Cardenas will have the ride. The Fitzroy Glispie-trained Timeforarms to be ridden by apprentice Oneil Scott, is the 2-1 ante post favourite for the event which is also confined to horses in the $850,000 to $750,000 claiming bracket.
Also highly fancied are Simply Outrageous with Anthony Thomas; and Radical who is also seeking back to back wins with veteran jockey Gary Richards aboard. First post for the 10 race card is 12:30 pm with TVJ Sports Network and Hitz 92 FM having live coverage of all races.
