A student footballer, who had been hoping to join the Jamaica College team for the upcoming season, died on Tuesday morning in St Elizabeth, following training.
Jamaica College is one of three schools involved in a football camp at St. Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) and engaging in practice matches, the others being the host school and Herbert Morrison Technical.
Jamaica College Principal Ruel Reid, speaking with RJR Sports, expressed condolences to the family of the teenager and team members, arising from "this very untimely incident."
The name of the deceased student is being withheld, pending notification of his immediate relatives.
