Tate resigns as KSAFA Gen Sec with immediate effect

The Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) will be meeting before the week ends to deliberate on appointing a new general secretary, following Tuesday's resignation of Marvin Tate.

In a scathing letter dated January 7, and addressed to KSAFA president Mark Bennett, Tate tendered his resignation with immediate effect.

Bennett confirmed with Radio Jamaica Sports on Tuesday evening that he has accepted Tate's resignation and will be taking steps to meet with the KSAFA to install a new general secretary before the week is out.

Bennett told Radio Jamaica Sports that he actually requested Tate's resignation from December 20 last year on the basis on none performance.

Tate's letter stated in part: "As I relinquish my position, I am quietly hoping that the council will find the courage to one day report to the clubs and affiliates on your stewardship of their organization.

Efforts to reach Tate by telephone for a comment went unanswered up to sports time.
