2013 World Youth champion Chanice Porter and Christoff Bryan both secured third place finishes at the NCAA Division 1 Indoor Track and Field Championships in Birmingham, Alabama on Friday.
Representing University of Georgia, Porter, the former Manchester High standout leapt 6.52 metres in the women's long jump .
Bryan, the former Wolmers star, was tied for third, clearing 2.18 metres competing for Kansas State. Another Jamaican Demar Robinson finished 7th although he was one of eight jumpers to clear 2.18.
World Indoor Championship-bound Chris-Ann Gordon and Fitzroy Dunkley also reached finals.
Gordon competing for Texas Tech, clocked 52.28, the second fastest time entering the women's 400m final, while LSU’s Dunkley posted 46.51 seconds, the 5th fastest for the men's race.
National junior record holder Daeshon Gordon was also impressive, stopping the clock at a Jamaican leading 8.05 seconds, the second fastest time entering the 60 metre hurdles final.
Meanwhile at the NCAA Division 2 championships, former Calabar athlete Sedeekie Eddie, now representing Lincoln University, produced a Jamaican-leading and personal best 7.97 metres to win the long jump.
