Reigning Olympic sprint double champion Elaine Thompson-Herah was denied a world-leading time in the 100 metres as her 10.73 seconds at the third staging of the Velocity Fest track meet at JC on Saturday was aided by a 3 metre per second wind.
Thompson-Herah got the win ahead of Shahsalee Forbes of GC Ffoster College who was second in 11.05.
Julian Forte's 9.96 seconds to win the men's event was also a standout performance, but was aided by 2.1 metre per second wind, just over the 2 metre per second allowable limit.
Forte beat the likes of 2011 world champion Yohan Blake who was second in 10.07 seconds and olympic gold medallist Nesta Carter third overall in 10.18 seconds.
Earlier, 2015 World Championships 400 metre hurdles finalist Janieve Russell won the flat 400 metres in 51.67, with World Champs bronze medallists Shericka Jackson second in 51.81, Rushell Clayton third in 52.67 and Stephenie McPherson fourth 52.72.
World Championships representative Tissana Hickling leapt 6.27 metres in the long jump.
