Chelsea will have to sacrifice their striker Fernando Torres for the next three weeks due to a knee injury suffered in Romania.
Torres who could only manage to a few minutes of place in Chelsea’s 4-0 victory match on Tuesday against Steaua Bucharest, was taken off in the opening minutes.
A statement realesed from the Blues on Wednesday revealed that the striker suffered a medial collateral ligament injury and has had scans done to his knee, which showed no major damage.
The 29-year-old who is already on a red card will not only miss Sunday’s match against Norwich but will also miss Spain World Cup Qualifers against Belarus and Georgia later this month.
The Blues are hopeful that Torres will return by the end of the month.
