The West Indies woes continued as they lost by 14 runs to Pakistan in the first T20 International at the Central Broward Park Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida on Thursday night.
Chasing victory 179 for victory , the West Indies were restricted to 164-7 in their reply. Openers Johnson Charles and Jewel Andrew making his debut, top scored with 35 each and shared in a 72 run opening partnership.
Jason Holder also blasted a late order unbeaten 30 off 12 balls including 4 sixes, while Joseph ended not out on 15.
Mohammed Nawaz took 3-23 and Saim Ayub 2-20 for the Pakistanis.
Earlier, Pakistan sent to bat posted 178-6 off their 20 overs. Saim Ayub top scored with 57, while Fakhar Zaman made 28 and Hasan Nawaz 24.
Shamar Joseph took 3-30, while there was a wicket each for Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein and Romario Shepherd.
The result also meant the Windies are winless in their last 6 T20 internationals, having lost all 5 matches to Australia recently.
It also meant the West Indies have won just 2 of their last 19 T20 Internationals. The second T20 International will be played on Saturday also at the Central Broward Park Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida.
