West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) President Dave Cameron said they have decided to dissolve the WICB and rename it Cricket West Indies.
He said this has been adopted out of a recommendation from their meeting with Caricom last year.
He said they have installed an internal independent committee, which is led by Jamaica's Don Wehby and includes Clifford Reese and Richard ‘Ricky’ Skerrit. Jennifer Nero, who was also named on the committee resigned due to other work commitments.
“The terms of reference will be only to review the reports which have been published prior to now and look at recommendations that have not been implemented and see if there is an opportunity and a reason to bring them back to the WICB for recommendation to the shareholders for adoption,” said Cameron.
The WICB boss said once this was done, a change management expert would be engaged to work with the board to ensure a smooth transition.
Meanwhile, Cameron said the WICB will be able to fund all its cricket related projects, having performed well in the last financial year.
