WIPA award ceremony in Trinidad April 13, 2012

The ninth annual West Indies Players Association (WIPA) awards function will take place in  Port-of-Spain Trinidad  on Friday April 13.

The ceremony will  showcase  the achievements of West Indies players, in the men, women and Under-19 categories. T

Tributes  will be paid to Dinanath Ramnarine, who recently resigned as the WIPA president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and late West Indies cricketer Runako Morton.

Jamaicans  Marlon Samuels, Nikita  Miller, Krishmar Santokie, Andre Russell  Stafanie Taylor, Shanel Daley and  Chris Gayle are among the list of nominees.

  The List of Nominees  include

 
Under-19 Team of the Year: 1.Jamaica; 2.Trinidad and Tobago; 3.Barbados; 4.Guyana.

Under-19 Cricketer of the Year: 1.Derone Davis (TT); 2.Kavem Hodge (Windward Islands); 3.Kraigg Brathwaite (Barbados); 4. John Campbell (Jamaica).

First Class Four Day Cricketer of the Year: 1.Marlon Samuels (Jamaica); 2.Daren Ganga (TT); 3.Ryan Austin (CCC); 4.Kavesh Kantasingh (CCC).

Caribbean T20 Cricketer of the Year: 1.Marlon Samuels (Jamaica); 2.Lendl Simmons (TT); 3.Andre Fletcher (Windward Islands); 4.Krishmar Santokie (Jamaica).

West Indies One Day International Cricketer of the Year: 1.Lendl Simmons (TT); 2.Darren Bravo (TT); 3.Andre Russell (Jamaica); 4.Kemar Roach (Barbados).

West Indies Women Cricketer of the Year: 1.Stafanie Taylor (Jamaica); 2.Deandra Dottin (Barbados); 3.Shanel Daley (Jamaica); 4.Anisa Mohammed (TT).
