Jamaica's NIR expected to reach US$7 billion by 2028/29 fiscal year

The Bank of Jamaica is projecting that the country's net international reserves, which measure the difference between its foreign assets and foreign liabilities will jump to US$7.12 billion by the 2028/2029 fiscal year.
 
This is despite the central bank's heavy intervention in the foreign exchange market.
 
Providing further details on the growth trajectory, the BOJ said the NIR will dip to US$5.79 billion at the end of 2025/2026, then jump to US$6.14 billion at the end of fiscal year 2026/2027, and then to US$6.67 billion at the
end of the fiscal year 2027/2028.
