Five more people die from COVID-19

COVID-19 has claimed five more lives in Jamaica.
 
The death toll from the respiratory illness has increased to 179.
 
The latest cases comprise two men from St. James, two St. Mary men and a Portland resident.
 
The ages of the five men range from 39 to 67.
 
The Ministry of Health says one more death is under investigation.
 
Jamaica also recorded 155 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday.
 
The country's case count now stands at 8,600.
 
Most of the cases were recorded Kingston and St. Andrew, followed by St. James.
 
Cases were recorded in all parishes except St. Thomas.
 
The ages range from six months to 93 years.
 
The Health Ministry says 164 patients remain hospitalised.
 
Eight of them are critically ill while another 19 patients are moderately ill.
