Fraud Squad detectives have laid charges against a Montego Bay-based attorney at law.
Maurice McCurdy was charged on Monday with Fraudulent Conversion, following allegations that he defrauded one of his clients of millions of dollars in a real estate deal.
Radio Jamaica News was informed that the attorney sold a property for one of his clients for more than US$5 million.
It's alleged that he failed to handover US$800,000 to the client following the sale.
A police report was filed, and following an investigation, Mr McCurdy was arrested and charged.
He has been released on station bail to answer to the charges in court.
