The billing and metering systems of the National Water Commission (NWC) will be the subject of an audit to be conducted next year by the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR).
The OUR wants to know what is causing billing concerns such as high consumption, meter reading accuracy and frequency, estimation of consumption, billing adjustments and billing punctuality.
The regulator says it also wants to know the extent to which the NWC is complying with Quality of Service Performance Targets and the related guaranteed standards.
According to the OUR, the audit will try to identify weaknesses in the metering and billing systems and make recommendations to bring them in line with international best practices.
