There is an appeal by residents living at Capture Land in Parry Town, St. Ann for the Government to distribute care packages in vulnerable communities.
The residents told Radio Jamaica News that they have been struggling to cope during the pandemic.
They said the prevention measures, such as the no movement days, added to the burden.
The residents say they occasionally receive items from their councillor, Ian Bell, but this is not enough.
"A big suffering a gallang yah, big suffering. And me a talk eh out to the Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, you're putting this country under lockdown and you have to think about the people dem who can't survive. What about me? I am a retiree. I am not working anymore," said Capture Land resident Carmen, who added that the community felt neglected by their Member of Parliament.
"You know how much time people come here and beg me little sugar...flour...rice...and mi have one two pound weh mi buy and mi fi share eh. What about the people dem who cannot?" she lamented.
