St Vincent and the Grenadines facing a shortage of chefs

The government of St Vincent and the Grenadines says the country is facing a shortage of chefs in the local hospitality industry.

Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves says the industry is now at a point, where some small businesses are scrambling to get chefs and bartenders in this season.

Dr Gonsalves says the shortage is attributable to the recruitment that was conducted by Royal Caribbean, which hired a lot of young chefs, cooks and bartenders to work on its ships.
