Good showing by Jamaica on opening day of CAGC

Jamaica had some solid first round scores at the start to the 66th Caribbean Amateur Golf Championship in Trinidad & Tobago.

Rocco Lopez with one over par 73, is the best placed Jamaican male, tied for third place along with four others on the leader board.

The Jamaican men are looking to better last year's 4th place finish as well as trying to get their first hold on the Hoerman Cup.

Meanwhile, junior player Mattea ISSA is the best placed Jamaican female, posting a 7 over par 79 and was tied for sixth place with Inyoung Yoo of the Dominican Republic.

The Jamaican women are looking to retain the George Teale Trophy. The players will tee off at 7:00 am Jamaica time on Thursday for the second round of the 3-day championship.
